Arsenal to contact Pro Ref over Sunderland penalty

According to NY Times, Arsenal will contact Pro Ref, English football’s refereeing body, about Sunderland’s penalty in Saturday’s Premier League match.
Referee John Brooks awarded the spot kick early in the second half, judging that Dan Ballard had been pulled down by Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa after a long throw. David Raya saved Enzo Le Fee’s penalty.
Two minutes later Bruno Guimaraes struck Arsenal’s opener, and Bukayo Saka converted a late penalty to complete a 2-0 win at the Stadium of Light.
Mikel Arteta called the decision unacceptable and said he felt sad about it. He added that he would rather focus on the match, praising both teams and the league’s level.
Arteta said he received no explanation immediately after full time, characterising Ballard’s movement as a judo roll. He said he would now seek an explanation from the officials.
