The MLS has announced they are reviewing Casemiro's move to Inter Miami following allegations of tampering.

The Brazilian was allowed to leave Manchester United following the expiration of his contract at the end of last season and had a number of offers, but has chosen to move across the Atlantic and join the franchise co-owned by David Beckham.

ESPN reports that the allegation has come from LA Galaxy, ironically the club Beckham played for, who have expressed issue with the contact Inter Miami had with Casemiro before acquiring the player's Discovery Priority.

The two teams have reached a settlement for the Discovery Priority of Casemiro, but those in charge of the league will continue to review the issue.

An MLS statement said: "The league is gathering all relevant information and will refrain from further comment until the review is complete," MLS said in a statement. While Inter Miami CF and the LA Galaxy have reached a settlement for the Discovery Priority to sign Casemiro, the terms will be released upon conclusion of the tampering investigation."

MLS rules state that clubs can sign up to five players onto their discovery list at any given time. Once they do so that team holds the exclusive rights to begin negotiations without competition from another other MLS side. LA Galaxy had discovery priority over Casemiro, which meant that Inter Miami would've had to acquire the player's rights from the Los Angeles outfit.

Inter Miami had signed Casemiro, a five-time winner of the Champions League, on a contract through the end of the 2027 MLS sprint season with an option to extend through June 2029. He joined a squad that includes Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul.

The player said upon signing: "What motivates me the most, and I think this is true for every player, is winning and continuing to grow. The project the club presented to me, along with the effort everyone made to bring me here, means a lot to me.

“I’m incredibly grateful, and I can’t wait to get started so I can repay that trust – not only during the 90 minutes on matchday, but every day in training as well. All I can say is thank you, and I’ll give everything I have to return the affection and confidence the club has shown me."
