Michael Carrick insists he is unsure over his Manchester United future after the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

The United boss is under growing pressure following another damaging loss but says he will continue to work as normal and do what he believes is best for the club.

“I totally understand the situation,” Carrick said.

“I’m not expecting anything in particular to be honest.

“I’m carrying on as normal. I love this place and I always do what I feel is best for the football club, whatever decision is made.

“That’s kind of it, I’m not expecting anything.”

Carrick also confirmed club officials briefly came into the dressing room after the game but insisted there was nothing unusual about the visit.

“They came down briefly after the game like always but nothing out of the ordinary,” he said.

Asked why United have been unable to stop their poor run, Carrick admitted there was no simple answer.

“Probably a number of things,” he said.

“If I really had the answers, I wouldn’t have let it happen.

“If I could do something about it and there was something I could really control then I would have.

“I’ve tried to do everything I can to not be in this position, of course I have.

“For a number of reasons, whatever they are, we’ve not been able to stop it happening.”
