Man City had more fans arrested than any other club in 2025-26 as top five revealed

Manchester City supporters were arrested the most out of all football fans last season, new police figures have revealed. The UK Government released data looking at the 2025/26 campaign.

The data, which accounts for data collected by the 43 territorial police forces in England and Wales, and by the British Transport Police (BTP), has taken a close look at the amount of football-related arrests and action taken by the authorities over the past 12 months.

In all, it has confirmed that there were 1,963 football-related arrests and other police actions across the country. This is actually a decrease of 4% compared to last season.

This is a noteworthy figure given the change in legislation midway through the season. In March, it was confirmed that unauthorised entry to a football stadium was added to Schedule 1 of the Football Spectators Act 1989. In all, 45 arrests and police actions were made for offences of that nature.

When it comes to specific clubs, the Government have confirmed that Man City had the most arrests, closely followed by Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.

The data read: “The club with the highest number of supporters arrested or subject to other police actions in the 2025 to 2026 domestic football season was Manchester City, with 102 arrests and other police actions. Chelsea was second, with 76, and Manchester United third, with 67.”

Other clubs to feature in the top five include Premier League champions Arsenal, who had 66 arrests, while Championship side Millwall are slightly behind with 63.

The data added: “In the 2025 to 2026 domestic football season, Manchester United had the largest decrease in the number of supporters arrested or subject to other police actions compared with the 2024 to 2025 season (-60; -47%). This follows a large increase in the number of arrests and other police actions in the 2024 to 2025 season (+39; +44% compared with the 2023 to 2024 season).”

“Portsmouth had the largest increase in arrests and other police actions compared with the 2024 to 2025 season (from 16 to 55 arrests and other police actions).”

A number of high-profile Premier League clubs also feature in the list of the highest amount of football banning orders. West Ham remain at the top of the list with 121, compared to 112 last season. Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool also rank in the top five, with each of those clubs having supporters in the 80s with football banning orders.
