Man Utd miss out on another summer target as World Cup star agrees huge £68m move

Manchester United target Crysencio Summerville is set to join Al-Hilal after the Saudi side agreed a huge fee with West Ham United.

Summerville enjoyed an impressive campaign with the Hammers despite their relegation to the Championship last season and starred for Netherlands at the World Cup before their premature exit at the round of 32 stage.

The winger scored twice and provided two assists for Ronald Koeman’s side before their defeat on penalties to Morocco.

His club future has been a topic of discussion with United identifying him as their top target to strengthen the left of their attack. Arsenal also reportedly explored a move while Roma were another interested party, seeing an opening offer rejected this month.

United approached West Ham in June to discuss terms with the Hammers demanding £50m at that stage.

Interest from Saudi has changed things however with The Athletic now reporting a deal worth €80million (£68m) fee has been agreed between West Ham and Al-Hilal.

A medical is scheduled with a long-term contract for Summerville waiting to be signed.

United will now have to look elsewhere for left wing options although there is a possibility Rashford could be reintegrated next season.

Barcelona opted against signing the England international despite his impressive loan campaign in Spain last season and with no immediate suitors stepping forward, he is set to join the squad for pre-season after his post-World Cup holiday.

Patrick Dorgu will also be regarded as an option on the left wing, impressing in that more advanced role last season.
