Despite the injury blow sustained by first-choice custodian
Thibaut Courtois
,
Real Madrid
have no intention of entering the transfer market for a goalkeeper, reports
AS
.
The Spanish capital giants believe that the position is well covered by their current options, with Courtois, Andriy Lunin, and two highly regarded academy prospects, Fran Gonzalez and Javi Navarro, providing both present stability and long-term depth.
Courtois ended the World Cup on a disappointing note following an injury against Spain and subsequent substitution, an issue that will require rehabilitation during his holiday.
Despite the concern,
the injury is not understood to be serious
. The Belgian shot-stopper is still expected to be fit for the start of the new La Liga season, and the injury has not altered Real Madrid’s confidence in him.
Although Courtois has dealt with several injuries of late, neither the player nor the club believe there is any cause for concern.

In fact,
the club plans to extend his current contract
, which runs until June 2027. The message from Valdebebas is clear: as long as Courtois remains motivated and physically capable, he will continue to be one of the pillars of the squad.
Real Madrid are equally satisfied with Lunin. The Ukrainian goalkeeper is under contract until 2030 and is viewed
internally as the perfect second-choice keeper
Club officials value both his professionalism and his ability to remain mentally and physically prepared despite limited playing time, ensuring he is ready whenever called upon.
With Courtois and Lunin firmly established,
see no need to recruit another goalkeeper in the foreseeable future. The coaching staff remain fully confident in the current goalkeeping department.
Behind the senior duo,
continue to count on two promising academy goalkeepers: Fran Gonzalez and Javi Navarro.
As per the report, at the moment, the
Merengues
are searching for the right loan destination for Gonzalez to help continue his development.

The priority is not simply finding a club willing to sign him, but one that can guarantee meaningful first-team opportunities in La Liga or another high-level environment.
Javi Navarro also continues to impress. The young goalkeeper was one of the stars for the Juvenil A team this past season and also helped Spain with the U19 Euros.
Next season, Navarro is expected to be part of
Castilla, where he will compete with Sergio Mestre for the number-one position.
With an established world-class starter, a trusted backup, and two highly rated academy prospects progressing through the system,
believe their goalkeeping department is one of the strongest and most secure areas of the squad.
As things stand, strengthening that position is not part of the club’s transfer plans.
