Chelsea have finalised a deal to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a fee of £117m. The transfer will be a guaranteed sum and make Rogers the most expensive English footballer of all time, alongside one of the most expensive in football history.

The deal followsElliot Anderson's £116m transfer from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City earlier this summer, as transfer fees continue to reach new heights.

Both deals still fall somewhat short of the world record.Paris Saint-Germain obliterated the world transfer record to sign Neymar from Barcelona in 2017 for a staggering £200m. Almost a decade on, the Brazilian's big-money move remains the benchmark.
