– An impressive collective team shooting effort and dominant mid-game play propelled the Los Angeles Lakers to a
105-82
win over the Chicago Bulls in a
2026 NBA Summer League
matchup at Thomas and Mack Center on Thursday afternoon.
The Lakers picked up steam after a defense-centric first quarter, outscoring the Bulls by a 64-38 margin in the middle periods to win going away. The Lakers shot 49.2% overall, and their second unit outscored Chicago’s by a 52-34 margin.
The Lakers boasted six double-digit scorers, led by a 16-point effort from Chris Mañon. Cameron Carr, the No. 24 pick from the
2026 NBA Draft
,
followed with 14 points and Arthur Kaluma matched Carr’s scoring.
Adou Thiero and Jon Elmore generated matching 11-point contributions. Zhaire Smith, the 2018 16th overall pick trying to find his way back to the NBA for the first time since the 2019-20 season, also poured in 11 points.
The No. 4 overall pick in the
Caleb Wilson led the Bulls with 21 points and eight rebounds. Tobe Awaka and Boo Buie posted 12 points apiece.
The Bulls are back in action Friday for a consolation game against the Cleveland Cavaliers (

), while the Lakers return to the floor in a semifinal playoff game Saturday against a to-be-determined opponent.
