Aston Villa agree Alejandro Garnacho deal: Ex-Man United star leaves Chelsea on loan with conditional obligation to buy

Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has been convinced by Unai Emery and joins on loan with a conditional obligation to buy. Sources say the conditions are easily achievable and the total package meets the Blues' initial £40million valuation of the player.

The Argentina international has travelled to Birmingham today to complete his medical and will sign a four-year contract once the move becomes permanent.

Manchester United are due a sell-on percentage.

Aston Villa had made enquiries during conversations over Morgan Rogers’ £117m move to Chelsea.

Roma had also offered a loan with options for Garnacho.

Garnacho had previously been of interest to Villa before he left Man United last summer.

The Argentine winger played 43 matches for Chelsea last season in all competitions.

Garnacho featured 24 times in the Premier League for the Blues, scoring one goal and providing three assists.

He scored eight times in total for Chelsea, with half of his goals coming in the Carabao Cup.
