Torino and Borussia Monchengladbach have both had offers rejected for the 22-year-old left-sided centre back who only has 12 months left on contract.

West Ham and Manchester United have also expressed their interest in the 6ft 5ins defender who can also play left-back.

Capped six times at England U20 level, Nelson made 27 appearances last season, scoring one goal.

Lyon want at least £25million for attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc amid interest from Premier League clubs.

Leeds United and Everton are looking at the Czech Republic international who had a stand-out first season in France.

Lyon signed the 25-year-old from Viktoria Plzen last summer for £6.5m. Aston Villa had been following his progress prior to his transfer and he went on to score 14 goals and make eight assists in 38 appearances. Those impressive statistics have triggered interest across Europe.

Liverpool are poised to complete the signing of Colombia youth international Samuel Martinez from Atletico Nacional for around £750,000.

Daily Mail Sport reported in May about Liverpool's efforts to sign the 17-year-old attacking midfielder amid competition from other European teams.

He has travelled with his agent Daniel Neumüller to Merseyside to complete the formalities but won't officially move to Liverpool until next summer after he has turned 18.

Martinez, who was also wanted by Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, will sign a five year deal.

Liverpool are also adding centre-back Dara Jikiemi from Celtic and striker Michael Mulholland from Crusaders. Senegalese winger Sidy Barhama Ndiaye, who impressed on trial, is expected to arrive from Diambars FC in January 2028.

Ipswich close to sealing £3.4m keeper deal

Ipswich are closing on a £3.4million deal for FC Volendam goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen.

Ipswich improved their offer after an initial £2.5m bid was rejected.

The 22-year-old, who also had an offer from Valencia, is keen to make the move and is finalising terms.

Ipswich want to get a deal and medical finalised before they fly to Spain for next week's training camp in La Manga.
