West Ham confident Jarrod Bowen will stay for promotion bid after Hammers superfan - and father-in-law - Danny Dyer backed him to 'rip up the Championship'

West Ham

are increasingly confident captain

Jarrod Bowen

will resist interest from

Premier League

admirers and commit his future despite relegation to the Championship.

Bowen is under contract until 2030 but there has been a swirl of interest in the 29-year-old

England

international since relegation.

Everton

, Newcastle and

Aston Villa

emerged as the most likely buyers but without making a firm offer.

Interest from

Liverpool

appears to have cooled and financial pressure on West Ham as they adjust to life outside the Premier League has been eased by the £85million sale of Mateus Fernandes to

Tottenham

.

Bowen’s ambition might have been tested by an approach from one of the big clubs in the country with genuine Champions League ambitions.

And the transfer window is open for another six weeks so that remains possible but there is a growing confidence he is committed to staying and leading the bid to bounce straight back up under

Nuno Espirito Santo

Nuno’s team continue preparations with a friendly at Southend on Saturday. The first Championship fixture is at

Burnley

in mid-August.

Bowen joined West Ham from Hull City in January 2020 for £22million and his place in the club’s history is assured with 85 goals in 280 appearances in six and a half years including the 90th minute winner in the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina in 2023.

His family ties will not dictate his decision but will play a part. He is settled at West Ham and married to Dani Dyer, daughter of actor and avid Hammers fan Danny Dyer who earlier this week told talkSPORT: 'I don’t think he’s going anywhere, and I think he will rip up the Championship.'
